About the Municipality of Hedensted

The Municipality of Hedensted, as we know it today, was created in January 2007, when the municipalities of Hedensted, Juelsminde and Tørring-Uldum as part of a nationwide local government reform were united to form one large municipality called the Municipality of Hedensted.

The Municipality of Hedensted has approximately 46.000 inhabitants (2013) gathered in and around the main towns of Hedensted (11.100 inhabitants), Juelsminde (3.800 inhabitants) and Tørring (2.500 inhabitants).

Situated at the A45-highway between the larger cities of Horsens and Vejle and only a 40-minute drive from the Billund Airport, the Municipality of Hedensted is an attractive location for as well citizens as companies. The Municipality of Hedensted is build on values such as diversity, community, responsibility, openness and development, and it is our goal to help all newcomers – Danish as well as foreign – to a smooth start in our municipality.
